Backyard Patio & Fire Pit with a View- Southwick, MA 01077

A friend of one of our longtime clients, requested our designer to design them a backyard patio and firepit where they could entertain friends and family while capturing their view of the golf course. After designing the perfect outdoor entertaining space, we were able to create just the space they dreamed of!

We started by removing the existing concrete patio and steps from under the second-floor deck. We then designed and created a 1,200 sq ft paver patio that extended into the back yard, with a walkway off of the patio leading to their garage entrance. The patio and walkway were built using Unilock Umbriano pavers in French Grey color. We then added a decorative banding on the outside edges using Unilock Town Hall pavers in Basalt color. Next, we added a large Granite step leading up to the patio entrance and a smaller Granite step leading to the back garage entrance.

We installed pillars around the existing deck posts using Unilock Lineo wall blocks in Limestone color with a charcoal banding to tie in the patio banding and then topped the pillars with a 2” Granite coping to incorporate the elements of the steps.

We then added the focal element they required for their entertainment needs, while taking advantage of their beautiful view, by installing a large 72” x 72” square fire pit made with the same materials as the pillars and a 42” x 42” electronic gas burning insert that can be controlled by the customer’s smart phone. To enhance the evening entertainment experience, low voltage up lighting was added on each tree along the property line and under the coping on each side fire pit. We finished the project off by grading and seeding the back yard, adding two planting beds to the back of the house along the new patio, plantings were installed and bark mulch was spread. We were able to deliver the results that our client was after and can now entertain family & friends’ day or night!
