Outdoor kitchens, living spaces, entertainment areas

This beautiful outdoor space was built by our talented stone masons which included a grill island with natural field stone veneer, granite top and a Bull built in grill and side burner, a 300,000 BTU gas fire pit with natural field stone veneer and Bluestone Cap, a seat wall, and a natural cleft Blue Stone patio with radiant heat underneath for year round enjoyment.

This project was designed with the homeowner’s request to have a really natural look and to go with the unique style of the home. This project was set deep in the woods, so it called for the use of natural stone. In our design, a Goshen Stone seat wall with granite coping was installed along this beautiful large slab Goshen stone patio. The patio was installed to be permeable which allows for any water to be directed back into the ground. We installed a boulder fire pit to stay with the natural look, and incorporated many large boulders in and around the patio for additional seating. The final result is a great space to enjoy while taking in the natural surrounding beauty.

We designed and installed this project to be the ultimate outdoor entertainment and living space. The pool is an 18 x 36 sport pool being only 4.5’ deep. Not up for swimming? Enjoy a seat in the 10 x 14 tanning ledge. At only 9” deep, you can cool off and relax without taking a swim. We created a masonry wall behind the pool that not only hides the pool equipment, but contains 3 waterfalls into the pool, a 10’ long fire bar in the center wall and two fire pits on each end. The pool is surrounded by almost 5,000 square feet of Silver Travertine pavers which are the ideal choice to use around a pool due to their coolness under foot in the hot summer sun. A hot tub with gas tiki torches surrounding it was installed for relaxing on those cool Summer and Fall evenings. If relaxing in the hot tub is not your thing, you can sit on the nearby patio and enjoy a cocktail by the custom hammered copper gas fire pit. A vast variety of landscape beds were installed to compliment the new space and provide color and interest for every season. Phase 2 in 2020 will involve our crews with installing an outdoor kitchen & pavilion, followed by landscape lighting to finish off the project.

Outdoor Kitchen Construction & Contracting

Nothing makes a better statement of a good outdoor space for friends and family than an Outdoor Kitchen that’s well suited for family barbeques, sports events and more. The construction of an outdoor kitchen area can be a complex process; something that can be easily mitigated by working with a properly experienced and certified contractor such as RJM Landscaping. Every kitchen we build is personalized and unique. The various hidden factors invariably come into play during the design/build process and are easily managed by our experienced team, who ensure that these factors don’t have too big an impact on the overall project timeline and budget.

It’s important to note, that no two outdoor kitchens are built the same. A variety of options come into play that affect the overall appearance such as natural stone veneers to granite counter tops and custom bars.

Our clients typically demand a wide array of technical accompaniments to their outdoor kitchen designs such as custom cabinets, sinks, beer taps, refrigerators, smokers, and even pizza ovens. Our philosophy is to always go the extra mile to bring the clients dream outdoor space to reality. The fact that we’re the most preferred contractor for this kind of work in MA stands as a testament to that.

Imagine cooking your own pizza in your backyard? Nothing can beat an abundant slice of cheesy pizza cooked in a traditional brick oven. Pizza makers agree brick ovens are the secret to cooking perfect pizzas. Right from infusing smoky flavor into the pizza to getting the right crust and base, homemade pizzas can be cooked better in a brick oven than in a conventional oven. Since the bricks retain the optimum temperature, you can cook the base and toppings to perfection for an entire party in no time.

If you are looking to set up an outdoor brick pizza oven, RJM Landscaping prides in providing excellent service to our customers in western Massachusetts, the Berkshire’s, the Pioneer Valley and nearby areas. We were referred to this client by another happy client of ours.  This project was very entailed and required our crews to perform many different upgrades to the back-pool area.  After our design was approved for the new upgrades, we started by replacing all of the Pine facia boards and pillar wraps on the deck with new Trex composite boards to eliminate the previous maintenance of staining.  We then excavated the hillside to gain access to the pool area with our equipment and materials.  We removed all of the old paver patio and pool coping, installed a new gravel base, new pool coping, and new updated pavers using the Unilock Beacon Hill paver in Almond Grove color.  Our stonemasons-built Goshen Stone pillars with granite coping around all of the deck posts to add a nice stone feel to the project as well as double a mini drink tables during large gatherings.  A Goshen Stone retaining/seat wall was also constructed.  Large granite steps were installed up the hillside to reach the top driveway, as well as a large Goshen Stone retaining wall to help with the grades on the project.  Pool fencing was updated to a newer style black aluminum fencing.  The slope was then re-built and finished off with new plantings to compliment the existing surroundings.  The end result was a total transformation admired by all.

We were contacted by this client to design and create a new living space in their back yard to allow them more use & flexibility. Once the final design was completed the work began and we installed a Unilock Brussels Block paver patio in the Sierra color with a Copthorne banding.

The fire pit area was accented with the Unilock Umbriano paver in Winter Marvel color. A Copthorne band was installed in the fire pit to help tie in with the rest of the patio. A pergola was added to the project to help the client get some relief from the full sun that the patio gets with it’s southern exposure. Our crew also formed and poured a concrete pad for a new hot tub. To finish off the project, we re-landscaped the patio area to soften the house and patio, and to create that overall oasis for the client to enjoy for many years to come.

After living many years with a pressure treated deck and the constant maintenance involved, our client asked us to design/build a new Outdoor Living space for them. Our design consisted of a new set of steps from the sliding door down to a new Unilock Beacon Hill paver patio which was surrounded by seat walls to provide additional seating for larger gatherings using the Unilock Estate Wall Product. A raised planter was incorporated into the step design to allow for seasonal plantings to provide a splash of color. Due to the sites Southern Exposure, a custom pavilion was also installed to allow for a place to gather during a rainy afternoon or to just have relief from the hot summer sun.

Our client contacted us to design/build an Outdoor Living Space to utilize their large open back yard space. Our designer came up with a plan that provided a large 1600 sq ft patio space using the Techo-Bloc Blu 60 pavers, expansive privacy and foundation plantings, and a private hot tub space. A custom pavilion was installed with lighting and sound to provide an area for night time dining, and for getting out of the hot sun. A custom Gas fire pit was installed for a relaxing night time retreat to enjoy with family and friends.

We were asked by our client to design an outdoor living space that would create an oasis type feel for their backyard. We were able to start with a blank slate which made the design process open to many possibilities. After several renderings, we were able to lock onto the final design and the end result was a beautiful living space that gives a spa like feel.

The project consisted of a new in-ground pool complete with a waterfall, jumping rock, and water jets built by the pool contractor. Over 2,000 sq ft of patio space was installed using the Techo-Bloc Aberdeen pavers. A Goshen Stone patio was constructed around the fire pit and seat wall to give a slight contrast of natural stone versus pavers. A separate paver patio was installed under the 16x16 pavilion which was outfitted with the latest Bluetooth sound technology and outdoor TV. Rock speakers were also installed throughout the landscape to give the entire project the ultimate sound experience for entertaining family & friends, all controlled by smart phone or tablet.

We put the finishing touches on the project with new landscaping and low voltage lighting. The project outcome was absolutely amazing and pictures do not do it justice.

If you would like to have a backyard designed & installed just like this one, please contact us for a free design consultation.

We were contacted to design a back yard space for this client to enjoy with family and friends. The final design was a new large patio using the Unilock Treo Classic pavers in Granite Blend. We installed a fire pit and high back seat wall using the Unilock Rivercrest wall system in Coastal Slate color. Our crews also formed and poured a new concrete slab for a future hot tub and installed the sono tubes for the future pavilion which will be installed in 2017. The final result was a fantastic entertainment area to be enjoyed by all.

We were contracted to design this new outdoor kitchen & living space for our client’s new home. The new design required us to install a new engineered retaining wall along the side of the property using Techo-Bloc Mini Creta in Champlain grey color. The new wall allowed us to raise up the grades allowing us to build the new outdoor kitchen. We then removed the existing wooden deck and replaced with a new set of Goshen stone steps and paver landing to allow access in and out of the house. We installed a new outdoor kitchen with built in stainless steel gas grill, bar sink, and bar island using a natural stone veneer. The kitchen area was finished off with a new Copper dome pizza oven and low voltage lighting. In the spring of 2017, we returned to finish the project by installing the 1700 sq ft paver patio, lawn and landscaping.
