This homeowner desired a landscape design for their newly purchased home. Our crews installed a patio off of their existing back deck utilizing Unilock’s newest Avante Ashlar paver. Bordering the patio are Almond Grove colored Brussels block pavers and a centrally located accent using Unilock Granite stone was created. After completing the hardscape, ornamental grasses, flowering shrubs and trees were planted. The landscape also includes a four variety Lilac mixture of hedging along the property line to create a nice, interesting flower show in spring. We completed this project by hydro-seeding the existing bare spots in the lawn to ensure a rich, green backdrop for the colorful plantings.
Starting with a clean slate, this customer encouraged our creativity while following their design ideas to transform their old farm property. A ¾ “ stone base was spread on the site’s clay soil. Extra large Goshen stone flagging was set by a machine then hand seamed to ensure close-fitting joints. A fire pit accompanied with a small seat wall was installed. Moss covered boulders, harvested on the property, were installed to appear as ledge outcrops from the patio and to add interest to the seat wall and fire pit. The atmosphere of the age-old farmland is completed with a modern twist that completes the home and its’ surroundings.
R.J.M. Landscaping was contacted by this homeowner to design an attractive poolside area for entertaining. An existing two tier wooden deck was removed to maximize available space for tables and chairs. Our design included a grade level patio out of Unilock Europavers with a Unilock Copethorne banding for uniqueness and radius steps that emerge from each entrance for patio access. A small seat wall was added to compliment the patio as well as add additional seating for guests and screen for the pool equipment. To finish the job, we added a landscape of low maintenance shrubs and accent trees around the pool.
The Williston Northampton School in Easthampton, MA had a vacant piece of property at the corner of Railroad Street and Union Street. They wanted to re-create this land into an aesthetically enjoyable and colorful space for students and area residents. RJM has worked with Williston on campus projects over the years. Our relationship and the quality of workmanship provided have made us their contractor of choice. Old wrought iron fence panels that were once used on campus were sandblasted, painted and installed as ornamental fencing. Key holes were drilled to secure the panels and new granite posts were manufactured to complete the assembly of the fence. Concrete bases were poured to anchor the sculptures that would be later added. Light pole bases were installed with electrical conduit running to each of the lights. A cobblestone edged pathway was also completed. Thanks to a donation to the school, a creative outdoor exhibit was created from a joint collaboration of art and craftsmanship.
